After providing volunteer services as an "Official Vehicle" for the second year running in the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon it was definitely time to put the bike in for its' 10,000km service. Although I had discussed the availability of a time-slot with the Dubai BMW Motorrad staff (for many reasons) I still hoped that a service in Abu Dhabi would be easily available, successful and relatively trouble free……..unfortunately upon return for collection I was advised that my 'baby' (that weighs in over 250kg and can be a little tricky to handle) had "fallen" over after the wash bay.
Oooooppps.

BMW explained that the wash-bay staff who had ridden the bike back after the post service wash had been unable to put it up on its' stand successfully. The result my bike falling over onto the neighbouring BMW S1000RR owned by a 'local'. Oooooppps.
Although the damage was relatively minor being only a scratched windscreen and bent windscreen frame I knew this would take some time to resolve. Due to the timeframe I had set myself this obviously has created a problem with finalising all arrangements as per my plan for departure on, or about, the 16th March, now out the door.
Parts have been ordered to fix everything and all be rectified within 3 weeks - inshallah.
